Hello there Reader,

This week I shared the latest PM Jobs Report on LinkedIn and Reddit. The conversations there are always a fun read, but the deeper dive that can’t fit into a single post is below.

If you found this helpful, forward this newsletter or subscribe here if you received this from someone.

The big takeaways

With 21,855 open listings, the PM Job Market is showing mixed signals with a 0.7% increase from July. The US market remains dominant and returned to growth this month, while the Middle East posted the fastest gains. LATAM saw a sharp drop, and APAC experienced a small pullback after recent strong growth.

My regional breakdown shows continued recovery signs in the EEA, stability with improvement in the UK, and strong rebounds in Canada. Seniority data shows especially strong growth for junior roles, while leadership positions have pulled back slightly.

Work environments continue to evolve with on-site positions still dominating, hybrid arrangements stabilising, and remote opportunities ticking back up after last month’s steep decline.

Regional breakdown

United States: Back in growth mode

The US market maintains its dominant position with 9,502 PM jobs (43.5% of global positions), showing a 6.8% month-over-month increase. That’s 602 more positions than last month, reversing July’s decline. The market is still 6.3% lower than two months ago, so competition remains high despite the rebound.

APAC: Small dip after strong gains

The APAC region has 4,070 PM jobs, reflecting a 4.4% month-over-month decline (186 fewer positions). This follows a robust 10% rise in June, suggesting short-term fluctuation rather than a reversal of the recovery trend.

EEA: Positive month after past declines

The EEA market is up 7.8% month-over-month to 4,198 PM jobs (+304 positions). While the two-month trend remains down 23%, this rebound is a welcome sign for job seekers in the region.

United Kingdom: Solid monthly growth

The UK has 1,309 PM jobs, up 6.6% month-over-month (+81 positions). The two-month change is a 4.3% decline, so the improvement is notable but the market is not yet in sustained growth.

Canada: Strong rebound

Canada posted 810 PM jobs, a 7.4% month-over-month increase (+56 positions). While down 2.5% from two months ago, Canada’s August rebound is one of the strongest globally.

LATAM: Sharp monthly drop

LATAM fell to 729 PM jobs, a 12% month-over-month decline (99 fewer positions). Despite this drop, the two-month change is still up 6%, pointing to short-term volatility rather than a long-term contraction.

Middle East: Fastest-growing market this month

The Middle East now has 824 PM jobs, a 13% month-over-month increase (+95 positions). This is the fastest growth of any region in August. However, the two-month trend is down 23%, highlighting the market’s volatility.

Seniority levels

Junior / Associate PMs: Strongest growth

Associate-level roles surged 37% month-over-month, reversing earlier declines and suggesting renewed investment in early-career talent. However this may be due to seasonality as APM grad programs ramp up.

Mid-level PMs: Modest stability

Mid-level roles grew 0.2% from July but remain down 5.6% over the past two months. They still make up the majority of roles worldwide.

Senior PMs: Slight decline

Senior-level positions dipped 0.9% month-over-month and are down 7% over two months, indicating a gradual softening in high-level IC roles.

Product Leaders: Pullback after strong gains

Leadership roles fell 1.2% from July, breaking several months of growth. They’re still up 4.8% over two months and 4.5% over six months.

Work environment trends

On-site: Still the dominant model

On-site roles fell 4.4% month-over-month, but remain the majority of PM positions globally.

Hybrid: Holding steady

Hybrid arrangements ticked up 0.3% from July, reflecting continued stability after earlier gains.

Remote: Small rebound after big drop

Remote roles rose 0.7% month-over-month following July’s 24% decline, but remain well below their earlier 2025 highs.

That’s it for this month’s report.
